June Leadership and Professional Development Conference Updates
The 2011 June Leadership and Professional Development Conference is quickly approaching. Here are some updates about the conference…
- There is still space available in the “ABC’s of Challenging Behavior” session. This in-depth 12 hour track will prepare participants to implement a plan based on the CSEFEL model to address the most challenging behaviors in young children.
- The Regional Office will be well represented with Kay Willmoth, Bill Sullivan and Karen Hennelly joining us to provide updates and regional/national perspective on Head Start and Early Head Start program services.
- We have had some changes to our keynote speakers, and although we are disappointed that Congressman Austria and David Johns won’t be able to join us, we are VERY excited about the two speakers we have lined up.
- Monday Night: Dale Butland from Innovation Ohio will speak about “Our
Political Landscape – Where We Are and How We Got Here”. Dale has a long history in federal and state politics, ranging from serving as the Ohio Chief of Staff for John Glenn to being a popular columnist and respected political strategist. His candor and insight are sure to be a hit. - Thursday Brunch: Jennifer Brunner, former Ohio Secretary of State, will
speak about “Everyday Courage and the Power of One”. - Jennifer served as Ohio’s first woman Secretary of State from 2007 to 2011. A recipient of the prestigious John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award, she formed Courage PAC in 2010 to encourage advocacy and citizen activism.
- We have planned a wide range of great content for Head Start managers and staff. The purpose of the conference is to build the leadership capacity at every level of your organization and we encourage you to take a close look at the conference agenda to determine the team that would most benefit.
