Early Childhood Mental Health and Early Childhood Education Institute

Making the Connection

The Ohio Head Start Association has received notification from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board that all sessions of the Early Childhood Mental Health and Early Childhood Education Institute have been approved for Counselor and Social Worker CPE for a total of 13.25 Clock Hours.  Participants will be able to apply on-site for credit; there is no additional fee.

Date: Wednesday, October 27 – Friday, October 29, 2010

Location: Doubletree Hotel Worthington, Columbus, Ohio

Purpose of Conference: This conference is designed to bring together early childhood educators (0-5) and their mental health professional counterparts to help build the knowledge and skills of both groups while increasing their awareness of the connections between the two fields and how to best support young children and their families.

Sessions will address a wide range of issues related to Early Childhood Mental Health and varying levels to support practice of mental health professionals and to provide education staff with tools to better manage classroom behavior and support social emotional development in young children.

Intended Audience: Mental Health Professionals, Education Staff, Support Staff such as Intinerant Teachers, Behavior Specialists, and Program Management Staff
